2018 Lincoln Navigator Introduced in New York

Last April, Lincoln Motor Company unveiled the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator at the New York International Auto Show, showcasing an elevated new version of the family-friendly SUV.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator's elegant nature is evidenced by the chrome grille and turbine-style wheels, design elements that transferred over from the Lincoln Navigator concept introduced at last year's show. The Lincoln star logo in the grille glows as the driver nears the vehicle, part of a welcoming series that includes puddle lights, illuminated tail lights and lights in the lower fascia. Adaptive headlights adjust their light pattern depending on the vehicle's speed, emitting wider beams of light at low speeds and narrower ones at high speeds so as to reduce glare off of street signs. Meanwhile, all three seating rows enjoy the glow of ambient lighting.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator, which weighs almost 200 pounds less than the previous model, is powered by a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 engine that mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission and is expected to generate 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator features a host of family-friendly technological amenities, such as a configurable 12-inch instrument cluster that displays only the information the driver wants to see. The SYNC 3 infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, so music, navigation, phone and more can be managed from either the touch screen or controls on the steering wheel. The available rear-seat entertainment system is capable of displaying different programs on each screen, and the front-seat passenger can monitor and control the displayed content via the SYNC AppLink. Up to 10 mobile devices can connect to standard Wi-Fi so that everyone can keep connected.

In a release, Kumar Galhotra, president, The Lincoln Motor Company, commented, “Quiet luxury is both a look and a feeling. The all-new Navigator embodies both. The sleek styling, spacious interior and technology are all designed to make each trip effortless.”
